Useful Information

Sowing & Growing

Parsley can pose a challenge during germination. It can be sown throughout the year for indoor cultivation. For outdoor planting, sow thinly from March to July directly in the designated cropping area. Plant seeds 10mm deep in finely prepared, moist, well-drained soil that has been watered in rows spaced 30cm apart. Germination typically occurs within 14-21 days but may extend to 40 days. Once seedlings are sizable enough, thin them to a 20cm spacing.

For indoor cultivation, sow seeds 2mm deep in small pots filled with compost. Cover the seeds, water thoroughly, and place the pots in a warm location at 18-21°C. Shield them from direct sunlight until germination, then uncover and grow them to maturity on a well-lit windowsill.

Ensure seedlings are well-watered until they are established, avoiding too little water that might induce premature flowering. Cloche protection allows for a year-round harvest. Once established, parsley is easy to care for and can benefit from a high-quality liquid feed.

Harvest by picking a few leaves from the outer part of the plant as needed. This cut-and-come-again variety can be continually harvested. Keep in mind that this biennial herb will require replacement after the second season when it flowers and produces seeds.
