Sowing & Growing
Prepare a seed tray with high-quality, well-draining, and moist seed compost. Sow the seeds on the surface of the compost and lightly cover them with a fine sprinkling of dry vermiculite or finely sieved compost. Place the seeded tray in a propagator or seal it inside a polythene bag, maintaining a temperature of around 18-23°C (65-75F) until germination occurs, which typically takes about 14-21 days. Ensure exposure to light, as it aids in the germination process.
Once the seedlings reach a suitable size for handling, transplant them individually into 7.5cm (3″) pots or multi-cell trays, and continue growing them in cooler conditions. Prior to planting them outdoors, acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions by gradually introducing them outside for a few hours each day over a few weeks. Plant them outdoors after the threat of frost has passed, spacing them 45cm (18″) apart. Choose any well-draining, sandy soil in full sun for planting.
Water regularly until the plants are fully established. Extend the flowering period by deadheading faded Lavatera blooms.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
