Sowing & Growing
Sow indoors Feb-Apr onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Place in a propagator or seal in a plastic bag to maintain humidity. Ideal temp. 20-25°C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Prefers a rich, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Added compost, manure or leaf compost will only improve the soil. A potting soil is ideal for container grown Petunias. Offer a sheltered situation away from drying winds. Water 1-2 times per week, allowing the top 5cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Water deeply, allowing the top 20cm of soil to become wet at each watering. a soluble fertiliser can be used every 2-3 weeks.
Beware, as these seeds are tiny!

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
