When it comes to courgettes, sometimes smaller really is better! ‘Patio Star’ is a compact, bushy, tender perennial plant, widely cultivated as an annual vegetable crop, with large, rounded, lobed, hairy, dark green leaves and golden-yellow flowers in summer followed by cylindrical, glossy, edible, dark green fruit.

Sowing & Growing
Sow indoors from late winter to late spring for earlier crops. Sow outdoors from mid-spring to midsummer when temperatures are above 18C. Sow seed 2cm deep, laying seed vertically to avoid seed rot. Plant in full sun in deep, fertile, sandy, and, ideally, slightly acidic soil after all danger of frost has passed. Sow in mid-to late spring for a midsummer to early autumn harvest.
Feed once a week after harvesting has begun. Cucurbita pepo ‘Patio Star’ will reach a height of 0.5m and a spread of 0.6m after 1-2 years.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
