Eastern Star is an Autumn-flowering corn marigold, with large, primrose-yellow flowers, with a chestnut-brown centre. Flowers from mid Summer to Autumn, Chrysanthemum segetum is a short to medium height annual and unmistakeable in flower between June to October. The leaves are slightly fleshy, lobed, hairless and covered with a waxy layer that gives them a greenish blue colour. This is one of the easiest hardy annuals for the garden and a great plant for children to grow.

Sowing & Growing
Sow in Spring, directly into the soil where you want plants to flower, sowing thinly in shallow drills in spring in well-drained soil in full sun; unlike many hardy annuals, autumn-sown plants rarely survive the winter. Remember to collect seed in autumn for next year’s display.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
