For a moment, set aside the vividly coloured plants enticingly displayed in garden centres during early summer, and consider something more sophisticated and subtle—a plant that exudes a distinctiveness capable of piquing your friends’ curiosity. Enter this unique specimen. Featuring somewhat fleshy, blue-green leaves ascending the stems, it almost seems as if they are poised to lend a helping hand in attracting bees. Gradually transitioning to a purple hue, these leaves add a touch of elegance. Now, let’s talk about the flowers—unlike anything else in your garden. Tubular and adorned in a dark purple-blue shade, they are sure to capture the attention of any visitor, creating a noteworthy and expansive display in your borders.

Sowing & Growing
Commence the process indoors by sowing the seeds at a depth of 5mm into individual pots filled with compost. Ensure thorough watering and position the pots in a warm location, ideally on a windowsill with temperatures ranging from 15-20°C. Keep the soil consistently moist. Expect germination to occur within 14-28 days. Once germinated, transfer the seedlings to a cooler environment. Acclimate them before planting outdoors after the risk of frost has subsided.
For optimal growth, this variety thrives in soil enriched with ample organic matter. Maintain regular watering until the plants are fully established.
As a cut-and-come-again variety, regularly trim the flowers to stimulate growth and extend the flowering period. Deadhead if you wish to prevent self-seeding.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
