Sowing & Growing
Direct sow where they are to flower between March and June by simply surface sowing onto prepared soil which has raked to a fine tilth. Don’t cover seeds as they need light to germinate. Water well. Germination takes 7-14 days, but can be erratic and take up to 30 days. When large enough to handle thin seedlings to 50cm spacing. Can be started earlier in a cold frame if required.
Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun. Keep soil moist but do not over water. Do not over fertilise as this will lead to excessive leaf growth. Requires little attention. Will self-seed freely, deadhead to avoid self-seeding.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
