Featuring an upright growth habit and broad foliage, this variety offers a sweet and slightly tangy spinach flavour. It can be utilized similarly to spinach and is well-suited for both regular leaf harvest and microgreen use. This leafy green vegetable is a tri-color variety of amaranth, and its young leaves are perfect for salads. It is commonly enjoyed in Caribbean cuisine.

Sowing & Growing
This variety can thrive when grown in trays as a micro-green throughout the year with the provision of heat and light. Alternatively, it can be sown directly outside in a warm, sheltered position from late spring. However, it is important to note that this variety does not transplant well. When sowing, ensure to do so thinly, placing the seeds very shallow, barely covering them with soil. Gently firm down the soil and keep it consistently moist. It’s worth noting that this variety does not germinate well in cold and wet conditions; instead, it requires warmth earlier in the season to thrive.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
