This highly productive courgette yields dark and light green striped fruits consistently over an extended period. As a traditional Italian variety that we have cultivated for many years, it has become a regular favourite in our summer meals. Known for its abundant production, it produces attractive and delicious fruits. Its bush-like growth habit makes it ideal for limited garden spaces or even container gardening.

It is imperative to have a sunny place shielded from strong winds.
The more humus present in the soil, the better, and it should have good drainage.
Plant one seed edgeways 1/2 inch deep in seed compost in a 3-inch container for an early start (late March).
Temperature is crucial; for them to sprout, the soil must remain at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit (ideally higher to optimise germination rates).
Water the soil liberally around the plants, not on top of them, to keep it moist.
Keep weeds out of the way to promote airflow.
Fertilise the plants every 14 days after they begin to bear fruit, as they are voracious eaters.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
