With the unavailability of Setton, we suggest Centurion as a superior alternative to Sturon. These attractive straw-yellow, semi-round onions produce a substantial yield of bulbs that store effectively and offer a delightful, crisp flavour. A kitchen garden is incomplete without onions; by planting our sets this spring, you will ensure an early summer supply when stored bulbs are limited. All of our bulbs are certified free from diseases and viruses.
Planting
Preparation; Improve the soil condition with garden compost or well-rotted manure two weeks prior to planting; freshly manured soil can lead to rot. Distance; Plant onion sets 5-10cm (2-4in) apart 2cm (1in) deep so the tip is showing, in rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart. Pest Control; Ensure good soil sterilization, rotational practices, and crop nutrition to reduce risk of pests. Watering Requirements; Water regularly, particularly during dry spells.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
